One of the best Cops and Robbers movies ever.

Heat is a masterful cops and robbers tale that shows both sides of the law in exquisite detail. Strong performances by Pacino and DeNiro (the scene of them sitting across the table from each other is possibly 5 of the most memorable minutes in film history). Excellent cinematography and perhaps the best gunfight (if not, one of the most intense) since Hard Boiled. More than worth the 3 or so hours.

Movie Wanted

Simon Yam has been undercover for two years in a local Chinese gang trying to get close to the boss. He's succeeding when an unexpected police stand-off causes things to go up in flames, literally. Later, the Crime boss rises from the ashes like a Phoenix having unfinished business with Yam. This is a pretty good captivating film. And I really enjoyed the action sequences. It's also very well acted, despite some plot holes. Siman Yam is an actor I always enjoy watching.

Another Lonely Hit-man

After serving 10 years in prison due to a drug-induced assassination of a rival gang boss Tachibana (Ryo Ishibashi) enters a world that's nothing like it was when he went in. Once a respected and feared Yakuza mastermind, he now must try and adapt within the confines of the new generations vision of honor. As he still garners a somewhat decent amount of respect he just tries to get by. Hooking up with a prostitute he's been in passing by with he begins to feel some sense of comfort. Upon stumbling across her being beaten down by her pimp, Tachibana can't just sit by and do nothing. So he commences in putting down an old school Yakuza ass whipping, thus beginning a showdown with the "now" boss, Sato.

ANOTHER LONELY Hit-man is fairly slow paced film that explodes at the most opportune times and kicks you back a few seats. The overall gloomy and depressing ambiance set forth by Rokuro Mochizuki is just as the title says, "another lonely hit-man", sad and lonely. One thing I kept telling to myself over and over again is "damn, at least your life's not like that". The demeanor by none other then the director himself Ryo Ishibashi adds that perfect tone needed and achieved to make this such a successful film. One thing I must make note of is how the complete brutality is overshadowed by the gloominess yet fits perfectly. This film is definitely one you seriously need to check out. Just keep in mind it moves a little slow, but it is very much worth the viewing.

As usual Artsmagic DVD just didn't feel right giving us such a cool flick, but they had to go and add some cool extras such as a really pimp interview with Asian guru Tom Mes….The cats over there have struck a gold mine…. ANOTHER LONELY Hit-man….

The movie I recommend for Kim Rossi Stuart fans

Kim Rossi Stuart image for me had been a handsome and noble Julian in THE RED AND THE BLACK till I saw this movie, BAD HEART. But now I consider him to be a really talented actor. I was overwhelmed by his performance as Claudio, who struggled desperately to get freed from a crime he didn't commit. The movie itself is very good. It is not poetic nor romantic as THE RED AND THE BLACK. But I love the movie, because it has a certain message to tell - where is the justice? Anyway, bravo Kim Rossi Stuart!! He is an actor who makes the difference!

Despite a sincere performance by Scott Caan, this road flick examines charted area with little innovation.

Scott Caan, the young son of James Caan, stars here in the title role, a teenage delinquent released from jail. Hate, after being released the same day, commits a crime, where he leaves a man for dead after he finds him attempting to rape a girl (Missy Crider). The two hit the road, in the usual, cynical way most films take it. Crider is not a good actress, and her performance does little for her typically bitter, depressed, hard-to-get-into-yet-lovable-as-time-goes-by chick. Although at first Caan seemed like a cocky wannabe actor, but as the movie rolls along, he shows great depth (and the scenes between him and "Smoke Signals"'s Adam Beach, as an Indian, are the best of the film. Those two generate more chemistry than twenty times that of Caan and Crider.)

Fair road flick with a few highlights, but overall, nothing special. Two and a Half stars out of Four.

Mildly interesting

This movie is obviously connected in some way to the 1994 movie "Greedy," with Michael J. Fox. The essential story line is pretty much the same: dying rich family member, blood sucking nephews and nieces want to get a piece of the pie before the old geezer dies. However, there are a few interesting twists in the plot that add a little spice to the movie that "Greedy" obviously misses. Add to this the fact that the actors are of a high caliber...Marcos is a delight to watch, his toothpaste smile charming everybody, and the beautiful Lucarno is enticing. The setting is quasi exotic and the movie is well scripted, adding that sensual touch and the rude language that otherwise used would be merely sex and swearing. The twist in the end is particularly interesting...I won't spoil the plot. Suffice it for me to say that this movie is better than average entertainment value.

Beautiful film. Of course it was obvious to see an Italian film with a low vote. A film that shows very well interpreted in the squalor of the lives of the policemen. Kim Rossi Stuart, Amendola and Placido are really good at acting their parts. UInfatti carabiniere life is always surrounded by this unique squalor. Kim Rossi Stuart plays the part of the carabiniere naive and problems. The rawness in the film is very scandalous and ugly to watch but that is why it is close to reality. Vedilo, you will like it, without following the miserable rating of this site. Not understand why on this website must always utilizzaree a low voting against movies less spectacular than for Hollywood.Spielberg, Lucas, Scorsese and give high ratings to bad movies like sin city. A well crafted mystery thriller with an excellent cast.

Thanks to a smart script and a steady hand from Writer/Director Kevin Meyer, "Perfect Alibi" is an entertaining and very likable mystery thriller. The movie starts methodically and builds up steam as the clues begin to reveal that nothing is what it seems to be. Teri Garr and Hector Elizondo are terrific as they team up to unravel the mystery, reminding me of Nick and Nora Charles, from the "Thin Man" movies. Kathleen Quinlan is excellent as Alex McArthur's tormented wife and the character roles, played by veteran actors Charles Martin Smith, Bruce McGill, Anne Ramsey and Estelle Harris are well done and provide plenty of light moments at just the right time. There's even a cameo by Rex Linn. In all, I felt like I was reading a good book by the fire.

Strong retelling of Pasolini's murder

This film focuses on the events and the investigation after Pasolini's murder. Pier Paolo Pasolini was one of Italy's greatest and controversial poets. He was however not only known for his words, but also for his deeds, especially the sexual ones and mostly with younger boys. It is no secret that he often angered the leading Italian politicians of his time, which was a very troubled time in his country. In this way it's interesting to take a closer look at his murder, because there was obviously more to it than meets the eye.

This film is a strong insight in the life of Pasolini. While focusing on the police investigation of his murder, we get to know more about his life. I didn't know Pasolini(or his work) very well, but after having seen this film I'm determined to learn more about him as soon as possible.

However, don't expect to much of this little documentary/film either. It's not a great history lesson, but it offers bits and pieces of the life(and murder) of an interesting man. What one makes of it from there on is up to the viewer. Certainly worth a look! 7/10
